Uncovering the cost of 'Over-giving'

I wrote a post last week on Linked In about the traits of an over-giver and it seemed to resonate with many people. The truth is that long term, over-giving can have a negative effect on your wellbeing.

You may think that you have cracked over-giving; you set boundaries, manage your time better, make time for yourself etc but still, you feel depleted at the end of a day. Over giving is not as simple as it may sound....

With everything being energy, we often 'give' away our energy without even realising we are doing it.

I am a recovering over-giver and recovering people pleaser. The last few years have taken me on a real journey to uncover the root of these traits within me, and one thing I realised is that they are both addictions.

Like any addiction, they stem from a place of lower self worth; we don't fully believe that life can hold us. We feel some need to 'control' outcomes and keep an eye on all things 'just in case'.

The Trauma Loop Behind the Leaky Energy

This need to constantly control and anticipate others is not a personality flaw; it’s hyper-vigilance. This is the trauma response (often called "fawning") you developed as a child who needed to manage the unstable emotions or unmet needs of the adults around you.

Your nervous system learned that your safety was directly proportional to how much you gave, fixed, or controlled.

As an adult, this translates to constantly monitoring the energetic field around you, asking: Is everyone okay? Do they need me? Will they leave me if I stop giving?

This constant, subconscious state of monitoring keeps your nervous system in perpetual chaos. You are constantly leaking frequency to keep the world stable. This is why boundaries and time management only ever provide temporary relief; they don't heal the root cause.

The Solution: Reconnect to Your Original Frequency

You don't need another time management tip; you need a way to completely heal your operating system so that giving from a place of deficit stops being your default addiction.

This is the core of the K'nnekted Method.

When you heal the trauma loop, your energy naturally shifts, allowing you to Reconnect to Your Original Frequency. This is the state where giving feels abundant, not draining.

I've created a free masterclass that walks you through the evidence backed, practical 3-Pillar Blueprint required to break this chain and regulate your nervous system.

If you are ready to start achieving sustainable success without the exhaustion and inner chaos, this is for you:
